My argument has always been that the DNC puts donors wants first. That minorities are an ancillary concern for the party at best.

That apology doesn't say what you think it does. He talks about "working with segregationists" but doesn't mention his own segregationist views. He in fact implies he opposed them on the issue of segregation.

The party itself, the movers and shakers who actually run the show and are not elected by anyone, is captured by capital. Which means the entire structure is.
