I will add that I have offered an opinion, not a legally binding judgment. It is my conclusion based on the 9 years or so I have had the misfortune of knowing that Mr. Miller exists. I can't read minds.

The last time I was on the NYC subway was over 15 years ago and my son was about 4. He had a drink and somehow dropped his straw. Instantly, a passenger next to us found a straw in their takeout bag and offered it to us. NYC is filled with decent people who know how to live in close quarters.

These criminals need to be brought to the Hague. I don't care that we didn't sign the ICC agreement. The US is now a rogue state and the rest of the world should not expect us to police ourselves. We've failed.

Of course he does. Miller is bad news. His one goal is ethnic cleansing. Not only does he show utter contempt for the Bill of Rights, he couldn't care less about the economy, US soft power, or our research institutions, all of which he intends to sacrifice to establish white minority rule.

Rubio was supposed to be reasonable and he has gone all in on "non-citizens have no constitutional rights."

People notice when they're paying higher prices. So they will still be angry. Trump administration will try to spin so it could go either way.

Reminder: Crypto Is a Trump Trade The industry bought a president. Bad investment?

"We always knew that President โ€œPiggyโ€ despised women and admired tyrants, seeing nothing wrong with hacking up your critics with a bone saw. But even a few months ago I think he would have been self-controlled enough to be less obvious about it."

If he can hold onto the Senate seat for Georgia, I'll settle for that. I respect him more if he does NOT see the Senate as a stepping stone.

Sam Wang was way off and I stopped paying attention to him after. But yeah, 538 rarely had Trump with a less than 25% chance of winning. It made me nervous but I thought they were hedging. I was wrong. Still, many insisted "538 got it wrong."

Without Comey's interference Clinton would have won.

I am wishing for an election cycle in which a poll aggregator who predicts a 25% chance of a candidate winning is not called "wrong" when that candidate wins. 75% predictions should lose 1/4 times.

Poll aggregates got the 2016 election right. Trump had a significant chance, and squeaked out a win.

The explanation is that they are a bunch of heartless thugs and they probably thought they could get a cash bonus if they detained someone or would at least get to satisfy their sadistic streak.

Really, no more complicated explanation is required.

He's a sociopath and his smiles mean nothing. I don't find it disturbing, or I try not to, because it's a weapon in his arsenal.

Fuck Stephen Miller. He's riding high now, but he's too young to escape history. Justice will be served one day. He should wish he was as old as his boss.

Yes, almost certainly.

They really do hate people who go against their idea of "normal." They hate them that much and more.

They ignore this kind of shit or treat it as entertainment.

"Whether you like him or didn't like him" the guy in the room next to Trump ordered his murder.

Contrary to the Trump's suggestion, you actually aren't allowed to murder people just because you don't "like" them. I could point to Charlie Kirk as an example. Some people liked him and some did not.

I would ask when was the last time they rode a bicycle. If it was recent, I'd ask when was the last time they did it just to save a car trip or tour around their own neighborhood.

This would also rule out a lot of people I think are totally fine, but a positive reply would weigh favorably with me.

I wish we lived in a nation where someone capable of this behavior, which we already knew, would never have been elected president (or elected a 2nd time FFS).

Yes, but somehow Trump got elected anyway (first time 2016), and somehow his supporters either never heard about this or didn't believe it. I heard about it.

I was agnostic, but it comes down to Russell's teapot. I don't need to claim uncertainty of non-existence if I have no evidence of existence.

I am "non-believer" in polite company, "atheist" when I don't want to mince words. I agree that atheism should never be an excuse for religious bigotry.

18.11.2025 21:02 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Did you stop being atheist or stop being annoying?

I'm an atheist humanist, but I respect religion because it is obviously important to human beings, whether it is aboriginal dream time, making Hajj, or electing a pope. I don't pretend to get it but I don't dismiss the value to people.

I won't post again, but I'm all ears if you have a persuasive exegesis to show that these are "cherry-picked" and not representative. The OT literally repeats several times "we were strangers in Egypt." Hospitality was a sacred obligation in the ancient near east (see screenshots).

Your take?

18.11.2025 20:41 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 2    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

My honest answer is "probably." There are very credible accusations, e.g. from Jane Doe who mysteriously withdrew her rape-at-13 accusation in 2016. There is the Access Hollywood tape and E. Jean Carroll's court victory establishing what Trump actually did. It certainly fits a pattern of behavior.

Um, well, not really. See below. Yes, he said you should pay Roman taxes if you're going to use Roman coins with Caesar's image. That's saying don't be a hypocrite, not a directive that laws somehow supersede compassion. The gospel is quite clear that it does not, neither religious nor civil law.

18.11.2025 20:12 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Trump is just plain evil *and* un-American.

You don't cut someone apart with a bone saw because they are "controversial" and you don't make excuses for a tyrant whose claim to authority is based on heredity and not the consent of the governed.

18.11.2025 20:07 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

OK, so he does mention insurance. Every private insurer is in it to make money, which means maximizing premiums and minimizing risk. It's the business they're in.

The only "much better" insurer is single payer and that doesn't seem to be politically possible.
