29.10.2025 21:50 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0That's my effort to work out what the exit polls mean. Let's see how it looks in the morning.
29.10.2025 21:47 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It's a good result in that Wilders has suffered, and his chances of being in the next coalition are down. But it's a bad result for the left.
Left votes moving to the centre looks like the main change going on here, which after two years of a failing right/far-right coalition is really not good.
So. The right has fractured, but not really lost seats overall. PVV losses more or less equal JA21 and FvD gains.
In the centre D66 and CDA soaked up all the losses from the NSC's total collapse, and gained a bunch more, it seems from the left.
Here's what 74 European banks considered "material" in their CSRD reporting. Bad news for "affected communities" (among other categories).
This woudl seem to point to a flaw in allowing companies to pick their own material issues.

This kind of melts away a lot of arguments from the finance sector about why they should keep propping up these companies so they can "transition".
It's almost as if we can't rely on the global banking sector to solve climate change

They have money. There is childcare in the US for people who can afford it, I assume.
The whole reason for the break up seems to be that one of them has to sacrifice their career on the altar of their marriage & kids.
But shit, just get a child minder. What am I missing.
We went to see The Roses.
I need someone to tell me, why didn't they just get childcare?
A majority in the Dutch parliament wants "antifa" banned. Including the "grown-ups" of the VVD.
This despite there being no such organisation as "antifa", and a complete absence of debate about the proposal.
The slide to authoritarianism is happening here too.

Here are 10 provocations on climate and energy. Tell me if you agree, disagree or have a nuanced take. Drop your own provocations in reply or quote post.
Start:
1. By 2030, the use of air conditioning will lead to greater increase in electricity demand than data centers. And it's not even close!
Thanks. I'm no climate scientist, but it's not so reassuring that the worst tipping points are only around 3C, since earlier tipping points may well push us there anyway. Being "directionally correct" is still terrifying.

All super interesting, but missing the wood for the trees? A provocation then - big picture, we're already at 1.5 degrees, and even with a rapid solar build-out the likelyhood of avoiding 2 looks slim. Past 2 degrees, tipping points lead to an unlivable climate within a few hundred years or less.

ICE isnโt recruiting heroes, itโs recruiting the bitter, the rejected, the ones desperate for a badge to cover their failures.
