I used to be one of those βIβll just donate to GLAAD if I eat Chik-fil-aβ people.
That donation doesnβt bring back people who died due to their money.
Nope, Minnesota and I thought about for a good couple of minutes.
You swept the rug (using a broom or carpet sweeper) or you could vacuum the rug. Grandma used the proper term for whichever device she wanted you to use on that rug when it was your chore.

Stop this. Just⦠Stop it. Stop using "generative AI" for anything that might actually matter, and especially things that, if it gets them wrong, *Might Fucking Kill You.*
Why does this need to be said? Why is this not obvious??? Why is this not the default way of fucking operating?! What the FUCK.

07.08.2025 06:24 β π 15 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0This is the single best piece I've read on "replacing coders with AI," it fully dispells the myth from the perspective of a software engineer and does so in a calm, reasonable way.

In that case, it could have been me having the high score in Tetris on like 10 different TI-83s.

I have played in so many systems, created so many characters, to just leave after one session once I realize I was going to be the joke the whole campaign.
I have a good group now, but it took years.
I have been back for three days and I have already been pitched three different disability accessibility AI startups or projects.
Iβm not reflexively against AI. But I feel like a lot of whatβs being pitched is just βwhat if we didnβt have to pay a human being to interact with those cripples?β
Basically my mom was told years ago she would have to wear a compression sleeve and gloves 24/7 and she more or less said "fuck that" especially since they never properly sized her nor gave her custom garments.
So she needs speciality velcro wraps, massage, and a pump instead.
This is just for lymphedema from breast cancer and in your trunk. Depending on your own personal needs and how bad it is, you don't have to do compression sleeves, tanks, and gloves. You get to do manual lymphatic drainage and get lymphedema pumps.
I still break out the compression socks.
Yeah, you have a point there. It is probably why I keep reaching for flexbox over grid.

My mom called (yes, yes I know) and let me know her lymphedema OT has a plan for her and she has to unlearn everything she learned like twenty years ago.
She only went because of me talking about my lymphedema OT.
Yeah, I use flexbox more often than grid. But they are both amazing.
06.08.2025 18:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I was a dork back being all "OMG I KNOW! Flexbox and CSS Grid are the best things!!!"
And then I made a joke about the old days and clearfix.
*shudders*
Gotta love that one of my authors messaged me all excited because he was using CSS Grid for the first time in a website.
It is the little dorky things like that, that make me happy.
If you are confused about the date of the birth of the web:
w3c.social/@w3c/1149817...
Itβs only because itβs confusing.
12 March 1989 is when TimBL submitted the proposal:
web.archive.org/web/20140312...
Which is different than the date he released it.
I hope there isn't a second author tangled up in the Unbound/Boundless saga who had 8000+ books go missing. The more I pull on the thread of my underreported book sales, the angrier I am.
A tiny thread:
This.
MAGA and Libs already hang out.
It's uniquely American weirdo behavior, where half of white folk in the US pretend that they don't know that the other half of white folk (That they live with! Under the same roofs!) are super racist.π€·πΏββοΈ

05.08.2025 15:00 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I did enjoy the boardgaming group.
We kept changing locations until we found one with food that the celiacs and vegans could eat, bathrooms that were clean and well stocked, and power wheelchair accessible doors and tables.
Boardgames will never solve the divide.
05.08.2025 14:55 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Years ago, I went to a board gaming group hosted by atheists.
A professor from a conservative religious college found out and sent college students to talk to us.
The organizers had to demand the professor stop sending students as they would refuse to play the games and derail conversations.
This has become the most viral thing Iβve ever put on the internet and I think that rules

She has messy dark-brown hair and a brown skin-tone. She says "We don't really wanna MAKE A.I. art." 02: A guy labeled 'Art Enjoyers' holds his hand out while speaking. She is wearing a purple and yellow hawaiian shirt with a floral pattern over a white t-shirt, and has red hair and a light skin-tone. He says "We don't really wanna SEE A.I. art." 03: Behind them both, there is a cute girl in a business suit with a pink tie. She is blushing a bit and has pink eyeshadow, and looks upset. Her messy shoulder-length hair is parted in the middle, and held by two hairclips: one that looks like a red arrow pointing down, and one that looks like a green arrow pointing up. She says "Um ... I-Isn't there someone you forgot to ask?" She is labeled 'Shareholders'. 04: She puffs up her cheeks and pouts, a tear is on the verge of falling from one of her eyes. 'Artist Enjoyers' Guy is now in front of her yelling "AH!! SHAREHOLDERS-CHAN!!" while 'Artists' Girl is in front of her yelling "WE'RE SORRY WE HURT YOU!!!!"
