If you donβt like seeing homelessness, remember itβs a reflection of capitalisms failures.
Thatβs where your anger should lie.

Prescriptions could cost money- rated at a slightly lower price than street price.
A very cheap way would also be to legalize compassion clubs, like DULFs
Provide a safe supply of drugs (could be regulation, prescription, different communes will need to do this differently).
To treat addiction as a health problem instead of a criminal one.
Ramp up harm reduction efforts. Have treatment/detox not have waitlists and be regulated.
And more.
Canada and the US are continuing to ramp up the war on drugs.
The drug war is the reason the vast majority of people experiencing addiction (or just using drugs recreationally) die.
The drugs are poisoned.

25.07.2025 04:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0βTo actually end the ongoing toxic drug crisis, Rufus-Sedgemore said, the government needs to bring back decriminalization, introduce a regulated safer supply that is more accessible and actually separates people from the unregulated supply, and create comprehensive drug education for kids.β

Jewish leaders who criticized Zohran Mamdani for three words he doesnβt use should raise their voices loudly here as well.

Proud of what we did in court this week.
We need decriminalization and prescribed alternatives.
Ya thatβs sad

The only groups benefiting from it are the police who continue to see budgets skyrocket because of it, and sometimes the politicians who pretend to be βtough on crimeβ.
(Actual crime reduction would be poverty reduction policies)

18.02.2025 01:28 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Idk whatβs harder to process.
The damage that our toxic drug and housing crisis are causing.
Or that they are largely solve-able, it would just mean policies that arenβt popular in neoliberal capitalist colonial states
Today I had to let bylaw/police take unhoused peoples tents (homes) and all their possessions in the middle of a rain storm.
Our systems are just so broken, or (more likely) they are working exactly as they were made too and theyβre just evil.
I canβt comprehend the pov that sees homeless encampments and is angry at the individuals (victims) instead of the dehumanizing systems and policies we have (and can change).

This is so horrible and STILL many people (like some of my family) donβt think Israel has behaved unethically.

12.12.2024 05:50 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Refusing to implement drug policies that will save many lives is violence.
Iβm so tired of our narrow understanding of violence.
Violence isnβt just physical, like shooting someone.
Itβs denying healthcare, bad drug policy, capitalist housing policies, etc. etc.,
If weβre angry and sad at the former and not the latter, thereβs something wrong.
I think being in charge of something that is causing mass deaths is more than just complicit. I wonβt cheer on his killing at all, but it makes sense that if you live in such a way that causes so much trauma and death, people will bring violence back your way.
