A reminder - last March, republicans promised to restore $1.1B in funding to DC in exchange for funding the government, and Mike Johnson never took it up in the House.

New: Sens. King, Shaheen, Hassan led negotiations on a deal that will have enough Democratic support to pass in the Senate, I'm told. This is the package: - CR thru Jan 30 - A vote on a ACA bill by a December, on a DEM bill - Minibus WHICH INCLUDES reversal of shutdown RIFs and back pay and protections against them happening in the future PLUS SNAP is funded through the fiscal year 26
Dems have spent the past two months saying they're fighting to address the crisis of spiking healthcare costs and now they're caving for a deal that does nothing to address healthcare costs Β―\_(γ)_/Β―
10.11.2025 00:52 β π 12523 π 3635 π¬ 958 π 349Pay attention to what Democratic candidates are saying right now. Find and support the fighters. Having a spine must be a litmus test issue in 2026 and beyond.
10.11.2025 00:43 β π 15680 π 3861 π¬ 437 π 149An agreement to agree to do a later vote is NOT an enforceable contract so what in the actual hell are Americans getting out of this deal??
10.11.2025 01:10 β π 17566 π 3681 π¬ 1413 π 303Bernie Sanders: "What this Senate is about to do is make a horrific situation even worse. So let's be clear what this vote is about. If this vote succeeds, over 20 million Americans are gonna see at least a doubling in their premiums in the ACA."
10.11.2025 01:54 β π 17280 π 5481 π¬ 517 π 267agreeing to make a terrible deal while your main opponent is quite literally being boo'd on live tv by an entire stadium of people is the kind of political instinct you'd normally only find in a 3 week old dead goldfish
10.11.2025 00:36 β π 25697 π 6397 π¬ 250 π 211This is really good to see: Miki Sherrill just put out a statement sharply criticizing the Senate Dems' pending cave in the government shutdown, ripping it as "malpractice" and a betrayal of the people who are "counting on us to fight for them." Sherrill knows what drove her victory. Wake up, Dems.
10.11.2025 01:38 β π 22850 π 5980 π¬ 265 π 224Please donβt think this beltway game of having retiring Dem senators vote yes while everyone else votes no is going to shield leadership from the end result. We see what is happening and canβt be fooled by those games.
10.11.2025 01:15 β π 12986 π 3466 π¬ 468 π 171Many Americans are hurting right now because of the shutdown, but caving to Republicans wonβt end the hurt.
Trump and his lapdogs continue to assert that they alone have the power to slash whatever programs they donβt like.
Deals with this regime are meaningless.
It should be that simple.

10.11.2025 01:25 β π 16685 π 5477 π¬ 423 π 296This is a bad deal, and the old way of doing things is clearly not working.

80% of Democratic voters want a new leader in the Senate.
Does that matter at all to Democratic senators?
The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.
The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.
People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. Itβs about peopleβs lives.
And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.
Tonightβs Senate vote on the federal government shutdown should have been a time for strength.
Instead we saw capitulation and a betrayal of working Americans.
The American people need more from their leaders.
Any Democrat who "trusts" notoriously deceitful Republicans to keep their word on an ACA vote deal is too naive/stupid to be in office.
Let's fix that next time they are up for election. #PrimaryTheIdiots
