The good news is, there’s only two months left in this year. You almost survived 2025.

What does “three hops away” even mean?

Like, if you played hopscotch with a gang member and you’re on 2 and he’s on 5?

If “intellectual diversity” means printing lies, the term has no meaning. Or suddenly becomes interchangeable with “intellectual dishonesty”

When I worked in WaPo Opinions in 2017-2018, senior editors specifically told junior editors not to factcheck Marc Thiessen and other MAGA columnists, otherwise they wouldn’t be able to publish anything by them at all, and “we need them for intellectual diversity.”

They didn’t question the war on terror either

Or the Vietnam War

Or basically anything that the monied class wants to do

If they bombed newsrooms, the articles would explain how the regime justified the strikes, but would end mid-sentence as the ordinance goes off.

Top Intel Democrat rips Trump administration over exclusion from boat strike briefing A briefing held only for Republicans in Congress on U.S. military strikes is drawing a fierce rebuke from a key Democrat

This literally makes no sense:

"The administration says it is relying on the same legal authority used by the Bush administration when it declared a war on terrorism after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks."

And the reporting doesn't question it.

Anti-Gerrymandering Groups Warn That Ohio’s Ballot Language Is Misleading Voters  - Bolts If “yes” on Issue 1 wins, it'd create an independent redistricting process. But some voters are saying the GOP-crafted ballot summary tricked them into opposing a reform they support.

(Why Dems took deal, part 2: If they were to lose the veto referendum, the 13-2 map would be in 2028.)

I'll let others debate what Dems should do or should have done here, but where fair maps really lost was when the GOP put confusing language on the ballot last year: boltsmag.org/ohio-issue-1...

*Why Dem leaders took deal? GOP was floating a way more aggressive gerrymander to lock in a 13-2 delegation. They could push it thru without Dems.

*Why GOP leaders offered deal? Dems cld have tried a "veto referendum" on a new map, which (if they got the signatures) would have blocked map in 2026.

Ohio Republicans are going ahead with their map, having struck a reported deal with state Democrats.

*Map could keep delegation at 10-5 in 2026. But it makes road even-tougher for Marcy Kaptur, who already sits in a Trump district, & it endangers Greg Landsman by making his district roughly even.

This point is nonsensical. A real capitalist would indeed leverage the government to insure they can access the lowest cost labor possible. And there’s no lower cost labor than slave labor. What?

56,000 U.S. purchase agreements were canceled in August, representing 15.1% of homes that went under contract.

That’s the highest share for August deals falling through in records dating back to 2017, per Redfin.

Newest LLM tell/quirk in coding assignments this semester: instead of generating code based on the CSVs that I provide, LLMs have been inventing datasets with rnorm() and sample() (and an obligatory set.seed(42)) and then making plots with the fake data.
