This village is also known for the colony of poets that gathered there in the early days of WWI. Several went on to die serving, including Edward Thomas & Rupert Brooke. The poetry inspired by this English landscape is lyric & beautiful.

The woods around Dymock in Gloucs are known for the wild daffodils that flower there in spring.
This weekend there are organised walks through them & round the village.
I’m heading over the county border this morning for a visit.
