The 'creation' of jobs by supermarkets is always a bit iffy. It probably means some local shop is going to close and the already hollowed out town centre will be further diminished. No doubt we will need a commission/ special task force to figure out why with the same politicians leading the way.

I think the point is that this is part of the Unesco criteria:
"Evidence of local community and stakeholder support for World Heritage status are critical requirements in respect of applications to the tentative list."

Hard to know why media turn to Carlow Weather for information rather than Met Eireann. Has he got a few satellites we don't know about? Good for 'content' and entertaining the punters I suppose, so fills a gap.
