One thing @lastweektonight.com missed - teen girls drop out of sport at twice rate of boys (Tucker Center UMinn, 2018). #1 reason = body image insecurities. What does it do to have an entire movement scrutinizing girls' bodies for being too masculine? THIS is the biggest harm to all girls in sport.

I got to be on a panel with brilliant/influential leaders at the UN #CSW69 women’s commission meetings in NYC. We talked #GBV in sport, including online harassment and the role of coaches in preventing abuse. We can and must do better, esp in this political climate.

I have studied girls/women’s sport for 20+ years. Teen girls drop out of sport at 2x rate of boys. Why? Top reason is body image insecurity. So policing girl bodies for feminine ideal, public bullying of a child by officials bc she has a “bigger build” is WAY more harm than any trans kid is causing.

For context, Maine has a review process for transgender kids in school sport. From 2013-2021 there were exactly 4 trans girls in sport. Meanwhile, this is what we get from
