A shame i can't make video games... yet

Recently hit a wall with my writing dus to an aspect of how i come up with ideas: i think of a cool scene and make a world around reaching that point. Im 50k words in and have finally reached the point where i need to write that scene, but cant bring myself to put it to paper because then its over

I finished all the Horus Heresy and Siege of Terra books this week. I started reading them when I was 13 and only just finished them at 30. I genuinely dont know what to do with myself now. Except read more 40k books. Obviously

After years of putting it off I've started reading the Illiad. While I personally find the Mustering of Armies fun to read, I'm surprised no one has tried to condense it into something less clunky. Or am I just unlucky to be reading a version that is not shortened?

Book idea basted off the Last Ark from the VtM Gehenna books: a priest takes in an injured stranger and has to deal with the increasingly surreal events that follow from letting a well-meaning but ultimately supernatural vampire into your life.

Idea for a superhero story: the dark forest scenario from the Fermi paradox but with superpowers. No one reveals their true nature because as soon as you do, one of the others will kill you.

You were on my recommended follows and I’ve not been disappointed so far

Our library has taken to putting a barrier in front of our door when closed (after hours, lunch time etc.). Yesterday a patron walked in while I was prepping to leave for lunch and said “sorry I didn’t know what the barrier meant, are you not open?”

While I'm on the general subject of "AI," let me just say that it's a real dickheaded maneuver to tell an actual artist that their work "looks like AI." Their work doesn't look like "AI" because they're aping what "AI" does; it looks like "AI" because the "AI" company fucking stole from them.

One of my favourite game worlds in recent years has been Dishonored. I’m currently trying to find a way to run a game on Pandyssia but can’t decide if I want to run it as a larp or rpg, and as a recurring game or a series of one shots.

Trump as Pope… I’ve played 40K. I know what happens when the head of the Administratum becomes Ecclesiarch. Goge Vandire’s Reign of Blood. I see nothing wrong with this. If nothing else I know how that story ends.

Ever since my computer died a few weeks ago I’ve struggled to continue writing (hard to do it on a phone) but I’m gonna try get back into it today!

I cannot believe I am suggesting something AI related, but why isn’t Warner Bros. pairing AI with the Nemesis system? It feels like a no brainer since we are heading towards the AI hellscape anyway

After 7 years my beloved PC seems to have failed. I will be contacting the creators for replacement parts. Otherwise it may be time to get a new one.

Listening to Rapture Rising while adding details to my one-player Bioshock RPG (made entirely because my fiancée loves Bioshock and wants to play an rpg in it). Today is a good day.

Today I decided I will make a standard for an upcoming field larp. Wish me luck!

First Run: Cat jumps on the power button and resets me.
Second Run: Fiancée turns off computer for the night resetting me.

28. Government Good?
Hell no! They are run by a undead monstrosity that sees humans as resources and pests. And beneath him is a class of evil mages that use Necromancy to power society in a way that makes regular people entirely reliant on them… wow I think I’ve figured out my story’s allegory.

27. Law MC dislikes
The current law against using sentient undead for all the various Necromantic services directly bars MC’s theory about using them being more efficient. The law is absolutely there for a reason, as MC breaking it is the inciting incident of the book.

26. Stability
Despite it feeling like it SHOULD be on the verge of revolt, the Undying Empire is very stable with its foundation of Necromancy dominating society. Hard to revolt against the undead ruler when every convenience you know stems from him.
