Their conversation will discuss, among other topics, the role that textiles play in advancing social justice and capturing difficult histories.
Lovely piece! π
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Itβs a real-life Catbus! π§‘

14.10.2025 19:43 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Happy Ada Lovelace Day! My favourite woman in STEM is my lovely mum, who pivoted from studying genetics to becoming a sought-after software engineer & IT consultant. She worked on some high-profile finance projects during her career, including a system for calculating commissions for IFAs.

What would Link do?? He would share this, because thatβs what he did every single day, being a legend.
11 hours left on our bold daily drive, which weβre running all month to help six families survive the slow genocide of ongoing starvation & displacement. Our help matters more than ever. 528/1000
Not familiar with them, but I do quite like the album art!

11.10.2025 22:05 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0An oak tree is silhouetted against the evening sun, and its leaves are illuminated, showing off their vibrant autumnal colours.
The #BlueskyArtShow theme this week is #Glow π so hereβs a lovely autumnal oak tree.

The #BlueskyArtShow theme this week is #Glow π₯
Havenβt dyed my hair this colour for quite a while but love how it caught the golden hour light in this photo.
Knowing when to stop is tricky sometimes, isnβt it!
11.10.2025 17:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I started mine when I was 37, and did it part-time as an online degree. I have ADHD but got through it with support from peers, family, friends & my uni. Just a few years prior, I wouldnβt have believed it was possible!
11.10.2025 17:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Smash is such a great record!
11.10.2025 17:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Such a great live act - Iβm sure youβll enjoy the show!
11.10.2025 13:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Best of luck with your studies! I had been working in my industry for a number of years before I embarked on an MA - it was challenging for sure, but I also found it consolidated & expanded my existing skillset. The experience I had going into the course was extremely valuable too. No regrets!
11.10.2025 13:43 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0You too! π
11.10.2025 13:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0So interesting to see your creative process Julia!
11.10.2025 13:30 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Sounds like bliss!
10.10.2025 15:35 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Awesome! Iβm just an hour south of the capital by train, so Iβm not far away. Hope your current trip goes well & do keep me updated. Happy travels!
09.10.2025 22:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0For sure - youβll just have to! Haste ye back, as we say around here. βΊοΈ (Maybe even do an arty meetup?!)
Enjoy - got a soft spot for M2, fka the Dean Gallery, because of the Paolozzi works there. Used to go there often to get inspiration when I was aspiring to become an art student many moons ago!
I believe thereβs some of her work still on display in the National Museum of Scotland too π and I seem to recall a marble bust at the National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh!
09.10.2025 21:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Believe me, you wonβt regret it - her lovingly restored murals are absolutely jaw-dropping!
09.10.2025 21:17 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I wrote this essay primarily on the Great Tapestry of Scotland, but it also reads as a potted history of Scots, our literature, arts & culture, and contributions to science and industry, amongst other things!
I also embroidered the π¦ - our national animal!

Gorgeous! π
09.10.2025 21:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβve always loved her work, but you can probably tell I researched her when I was writing an essay on visual culture in Scotland π #ArtNerd
09.10.2025 20:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0She was incredibly multi-talented - painted murals, made these incredible tapestries/embroideries (even stained glass I think!) & exquisite illuminated manuscripts. Visiting the Mansfield Traquair Centre in Edinburgh is a must, to see her beautiful gilded murals! mansfieldtraquair.org.uk/the-murals/
