It’s so funny, there’s a long social media tradition going back 25 years of making a big deal about how you were going to quit, and then only being gone for like half a day.

The objectively correct release schedule for Wicked part 2 is to have the Thanksgiving wide release and for Christmas, instead of a sing-along, to re-release part 1 in theatres as a double feature.

I found a gold-rimmed photograph of my 101 year-old Mom, taken when she was only 10. And I also found a gold-rimmed clock. So I hung them next to each other.

We say clocks measure time, but I’ve never seen a thing that doesn’t measure time, one way or another.

Excellent timing for me (someone who just got around to posting about the performances I’m doing this weekend)

But fortunately there are lots of good ways to enjoy things and I absolutely don’t think it ruins the show to know how it ends before you watch it! I’m just nostalgic. And there will be so many future theatre kids whose first experience of Wicked will be after both movies are out. That’s cool too.

It just bums me out a little that anyone whose first interaction with Wicked was the movie (and it’s a significant number of people!) has to avoid spoilers for a year to get that same kind of payoff. Which seems unlikely as well as unsatisfying.

Obviously the show is 20 years old and the book it’s based on is older, and my husband doesn’t care about spoilers anyway? But like, the first time I saw Wicked onstage, I’d listened to the soundtrack RELIGIOUSLY, but I didn’t know the synopsis and was still surprised by the twists

I saw Wicked again yesterday with my husband (a non-theatre person) and realized my main complaint about the first and second acts being split up is that because the first act sets up so many things that pay off in the second, it’s kind of impossible to discuss the plot without spoilers

Still getting used to this app. I just almost replied to the Onion “dairy free caesar dressing” because I forgot I was not in my browser and absently clicked the bottom bar. I can’t believe I’ve already reached the grandmas using facebook stage, absolutely devastating
