Excluding the music choices, the 1st episode of the 4th season of Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown is some of the most phenomenal television editing I've seen. Something about China brings it out from cast and crew, since the last time I said this was about their episode in King Kong.

Ben Hillier's influence on Playing the Angel, Sounds of the Universe and Delta Machine is probably the most underrated aspect of Depeche Mode's whole discography. What a trilogy!

You're a healer, so you can't really quest. And you already have normal dungeon loot on every slot. But you cannot run heroic dungeons with us until you get better gear, which you can only get from heroic dungeons. You ape. You buffoon.

Literally every time I play WoW, I am reminded how all of these people are miserable and have tar for blood. You can't run with us because you don't have the achievement. The only way to get the achievement is to run this dungeon. We won't let you do that, unless you have the achievement.

Once you've been kicked out of a LFD group for having too low a gearscore, you'll never stop wanting to beat WoW players to death with your bare hands.

Now that the scourge of sexy witches is no longer haunting the streets, I can feel safe again.

Became possessed by the lingering consciousness of the Daud "Enough Money to Disappear" Farewell Tour and went back into Dishonored II for a cheeky 3 AM blitz on Kirin Jindosh's Clockwork Mansion. Finished it in less than thirty minutes. Just went for all runes and charms, burning mana all over.

I'm one Eye of the Beholder away from Dream of The Wise, and I just don't know if I have it in me. I have been messing with Fist Weapons, which are surprisingly mashy in comparison to odachi. Unbroken really lets you string stuff till your Ki cries for mercy and you die instantly.

Played Nioh 2 again for a couple of hours tonight. There is such a familiar strain in the tendons of my hand, which sets upon around the third or fourth mission. This game is so good, but I don't know what kind of organism I need to be sometimes to play it at the proper intensity.

I can't wait for the whole first generation of these being advertised as "Non-Euclidean action adventure" or "inspired by the works of M. C. Escher."

It's going to be the only genre they'll be able to sell any of this in. Surrealist fever-dreams, hallucinated by a chunk of silicon.

I don't know how many, if any, of you are interested in reading my thoughts on books, but here's the latest:

This time, Werner Herzog's book about the farm boy, who was somehow capable of discerning a man-made satellite, but not capable of entertaining the thought that Japan had lost the war.

Played a little bit of Parasite Eve out of the blue. Quite fun. Might put some time to it on the side while dragging my foot across the finish line with Persona 3 FES.

Can't wait for the sequel

Just got the next chapter of FON outlined. I think this one might be good, but it needs a lot of work to get it to the place where it's going to hit true. Already at 10 pages of notes.

Like, it is genuinely braindead. If you don't counterspell, just destroy it after. If you have leftover mana, make them discard. Get all your Rooms and Enchantment Sagas (4x Bandit's) and just sit there and let them play into you. The only thing you don't beat is artifacts which is expensive to play

I just got really fed up with people playing a kind of Dimir Control that is entirely counterspells, exiles, destroys and discards with no real win condition, so I made a deck with the literal scraps I had lying around and I've made five people rage-quit as I remove their shit for twenty turns.
