I had another dream This one was about the existence of a show on HGTV named Bitch House. The host was a man who appeared to have been a werewolf college student dragged off some Florida beach during spring break, poured into a suit, and shoved in front of a camera. He wore giant sunglasses every episode. There was no explanation. Every episode was the same. He would show up and tour somebody's house while they talked it up: how much they paid for it, square footage, time to the highway, backyard, last renovated in xxxx, bedrooms, bathrooms, home office, new roof, everything. They would be touring the house the whole time, just like any normal HGTV show. Then they would gather back out in front of the house and there was a really tense moment where he would tell you if your house was a bitch house or not. It not, he would just kinda shake their hands and thank them for the tour and walk away. Otherwise, he would turn to the camera and scream "BITCH HOOOOOOOOUSE" at the top of his lung

I have likely received a late-in-life ADHD diagnosis (am 48, still may be generalized anxiety but working with a psych NP to figure it out) and just knowing how much testing and evaluation it has taken to get here makes this even more galling to me. Like… the sheer arrogance of this!

I can’t relate to this specifically (as I graduated college in ‘99, debt was under $10k, has long been paid off) but I really appreciate this framing for so many things - this is what worked for you, recognizing that lots of unique factors had to come together.

If you're using AI to write essays, eulogies, a text to your wife, I do think less of you as a person. Ceding your mental and creative abilities to a machine is an embarrassing thing and people should be ashamed to admit doing it in public.

OMG - I’m so sorry you had to go through so much! Glad that it sounds like you have recovered, though I can imagine it was a lot of painful work to get there.

My c-section was scheduled bc my kid was frank breech, and even that was hard, so I cannot imagine an emergency/unplanned c-section.

Maybe it was a sign to go to Biscuitville!

My 10yo is a gymnast, and I would love to let her have the private lessons she has been begging for, but the other expenses for it are substantial enough that I can’t make it work.

I know I’ve said it before but apparently it bears repeating (since people will not shut up about this): my 10yo is a competitive gymnast, and the things I’m legitimately concerned about on that front are injuries (it is a HARD sport) and mental health (she’s a perfectionist to a fault).
