And start prepping now. If you treat localization as an aftertought, everybody working on it will be stressed to the max, and sometimes it shows in the finished product.

Seriously though: you want eyes on that cool thing of yours? Make it easy for everyone to play! Cannot afford a full demo translation (probably cheaper than you think, but okay)? At least get a translated cheat sheet with the controls.

If you're an indie dev exhibiting at Gamescom and you want a fancy German translation for your demo build to benefit from the fact that most of the audience will be actual Germans …
