26.07.2025 08:28 โ ๐ 22 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Boom Town has always felt like a loose part one of a three-part finale - it sets up the heart of the TARDIS plot point and solidifies the Doctor/Rose/Jack (and Mickey) team.
21.07.2025 11:32 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0That poor girl, with her bloodied head and open eyes stuffed in a cupboard - horrible
20.07.2025 18:13 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The actual plotting of that bit isnโt great though - my pet peeve is when a character has crucial info but the other character has to leave *right now* for ๐คท reasons and has no time to listen. And that the killer just happens to be lurking outside and can hear the conversation in the kitchen.
20.07.2025 16:16 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Yes, theyโre both incredible and Hinchโs grief and fury at the climax is so well played by Dionisotti.
20.07.2025 16:13 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I adore the butch/femme Hitch and Murgatroyd - were they originally written as a couple, or was it a decision taken in this adaptation?
20.07.2025 12:03 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Brutally cruel in places (โlike treating a dog youโre going to have destroyedโ) with some deliciously camp and quotable lines, and Hicksonโs absolutely terrifying laser beam stare. I found The Moving Finger really flat last week, so I was relieved we were back on top form with โAnnouncedโ

19.07.2025 10:21 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I think it's also worth adding that AI kills free expression because Nazis hate artists. We create hope, we stir passion, we provide rallying cries.
Nazis are desperate to take humans away from creativity because all art is political but we cannot live without art.

This is a virtually perfect top 5 - though I would bump Snakedance and Frontios into the Top 8, and swap with Castrovalva (loving the @andreworton.bsky.social Black Archive!) and Earthshock. Honorable mention to Mawdryn Undead.

I think this might be a first?
That is now in the Hansard record for all time.

Youโve been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Whoโs coming to save you?
Luckily, she brought her sonic and TARDIS.

Speaking the UK's creators: "Their property, their labour, is worthy of your protection - because apart from anything else, it is not ours to give away."
The Bionic Woman, Futureworld, and Doctor Who's cyborgs and androids frightened the pants off me, specifically 'The Big Reveal': the scene where the robot's faceplate would fall off, revealing circuitry, wires, flashing lights, and googly eyeballs. Talk about uncanny valley.
