Boom Town has always felt like a loose part one of a three-part finale - it sets up the heart of the TARDIS plot point and solidifies the Doctor/Rose/Jack (and Mickey) team.

The actual plotting of that bit isn’t great though - my pet peeve is when a character has crucial info but the other character has to leave *right now* for 🤷 reasons and has no time to listen. And that the killer just happens to be lurking outside and can hear the conversation in the kitchen.

Yes, they’re both incredible and Hinch’s grief and fury at the climax is so well played by Dionisotti.

I adore the butch/femme Hitch and Murgatroyd - were they originally written as a couple, or was it a decision taken in this adaptation?

Brutally cruel in places (“like treating a dog you’re going to have destroyed”) with some deliciously camp and quotable lines, and Hickson’s absolutely terrifying laser beam stare. I found The Moving Finger really flat last week, so I was relieved we were back on top form with “Announced”

The Bionic Woman, Futureworld, and Doctor Who's cyborgs and androids frightened the pants off me, specifically 'The Big Reveal': the scene where the robot's faceplate would fall off, revealing circuitry, wires, flashing lights, and googly eyeballs. Talk about uncanny valley.
