I’ve finally started watching The Leftovers as the next step of my journey across the Berthaverse. No way I’m waiting for Gilded Age Season 3 to see more Carrie Coon.

I don’t think this administration is specifically trying to kill as many people as possible for the sheer pleasure of killing, but I don’t think their strategy would look any different if they were.

When it comes down to it bike/ped/transit advocate demands are “we want to have basic freedom of mobility and not be hit by cars” and car people’s demands are “if you inconvenience us in any way whatsoever that’s oppression.”

Not to mention, sprawl creates fascists. Who’s more likely to be aggrieved and vengeful? The guy who walks to the store and has a drink at the bar and chats with people, or the guy who sits in traffic all day and views other people as obstacles in his way?

it’s basically trite to note at this point but if this were any other president, and certainly a democrat, spending a ton of money to gild the white house would be a legit scandal
