I've noticed my locals have been leaving a lot of angry comments on news articles and this was so very much TrumpLand up until a few months ago

While no threats or acts of violence have been reported, we want our community to stay informed and take steps to support one another. If you encounter this individual or any suspicious activity: Take immediate action to report the incident at the time it occurs by calling Public Safety Dispatch. .

Theologically, it was "god needs to torture you because he's so holy that even your good deeds are disgusting to him" and interpersonal relationships were a reflection of that, most especially in the way that men treated everyone else.

It was honestly just the entire vibe of everything theological and interpersonal

The church really taught us to feel that shame is something people should feel if they're a vulnerable person hurt by a person in power

I've seen a few people say things like this and it's so intriguing to me because it's the complete opposite of what I was taught shame was supposed to be from the evangelicals

We need to talk about how social media algorithms push moms down a slippery slope of distrust.

From "Are my kids getting enough support in school?" To "Maybe I should homeschool." To "Maybe modern medicine is bad."

I’ve seen some thinkpieces and posts about Portland protests that fail to understand the long-term hyperspecificity of Portland culture/humor, and frame it as a sort of shitposting meme-pilled ironic thing. Which is wrong.

So I’m gonna give you my breakdown.

The Internet didn't really invent anything new, rather it acts as an accelerant for process that have been around for a long time. "Shitposting" and "Aura farming" have been things since the dawn of society, but the Internet makes those processes more public and expedites at an exponential rate.

This is high on my future reading list
