Americans’ Complex Views on Gender Identity and Transgender Issues Most favor protecting trans people from discrimination, but fewer support policies related to medical care for gender transitions; many are uneasy with the pace of change on trans issues.

It's also REALLY notable that at least in 2022, prohibiting trans kids from playing on sports teams that aligned with their gender identity wasn't an 80-20, 70-30, or even 60-40 issue.

And broadly, the majority wanted to PROTECT trans people from discrimination.
