I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.

That said there is a tea shop in Pershore (Sugar and Spice) that doesn't number its tables but rather names them after nearby villages.
The one nearest the toilets is indeed Wyre Piddle.
We head over to Evesham now and again and Mrs Clanger and I often swear the satnav is just making up the names of passing villages.

The A44 used to go through Wyre Piddle but it was diverted around it a few years ago so we now have a Piddle Bypass.

It's great when modern technology lets you pretend you're in a sci-fi movie, like when I turn off the AC in my Nissan Leaf to extend the range and announce "Diverting life support to main propulsion."

04.02.2026 17:08 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Oh yes, last year the posh village up the road announced their summer fete for the day we had already announced ours, and according to Mrs Clanger (who is on the Village JΜΆuΜΆnΜΆtΜΆaΜΆ Green Committee, this was tantamount to a declaration of war.
