Artefacts - Durham University The deposits at Melsonby included a vast amount of ironwork and copper alloy items, with most of the artefacts being associated with horse harness and Iron Age vehicle parts.

🏺 In 2021 a metal detectorist made the find of a lifetime in Melsonby, Yorkshire (#UK). Luckily, he contacted experts at the University of Durham who, in collaboration with the British Museum and Historic England, excavated what is now known as The Melsonby Hoard. 1/

More than 800 objects were unearthed in a field near the village of Melsonby, North Yorkshire.
