We need a new computer at Job2. A very generous and well-meaning soul has bought us one... without any reference to me (the sole user) as to what is needed. Torn between gratitude and exasperation.

12.10.2025 17:42 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I have a friend who buys all her presents and cards, writes and wraps and then stores it all in her loft BY THE END OF OCTOBER. She has 4 kids and 5 grandkids. Madness.
12.10.2025 17:15 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Aha! Thank you. I have now gone down a rabbit hole of quince recipes as my harvest is piling up. Quince liqueur for me I think.

#Hahahaha Brilliant.
Good to see you back! โบ๏ธ
09.10.2025 10:29 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Currently sitting with my hair in little plaits to create the 80s big hair look. Why? Because our latest girls night out is school dinner themed! I'm even wearing school uniform.
Oh and black eyeliner. Lots of that.
It's wonderful!

The same pale green ballgown with huge skirts set on a royal blue plinth. More costumes are arranged behind.
Going through my images from yesterday's trip to the Marie Antoinette exhibition at the V&A, I realise that I've seen the John Galliano ball gown before - at Chatsworth in 2017. It is utterly fabulous though.
My photos then and now.
Safely back home. Shattered, but it's been a great mini holiday.

Do wish they'd sort themselves out with an edit function.
Drat. What about the Marie Antoinette one? I'm doing that in a mo.

There was no ice mould in the apartment, so I used the egg tray from the fridge. Genius or what?!
30.09.2025 10:06 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Should have marked myself as 'safe' last night after the fuss I made of getting home after the opera. Anyway, Jnr4 chatted on the phone as promised and it was absolutely fine.
ROH will become a regular feature of my trips to London now for as long as I can afford the 'cheap' seats!
Yes it was Gerald Finley. I have nothing to compare to, but it was wonderfully staged. Excellent lighting. Especially enjoyed the First Act closer. Powerful performances by main characters. Huge cries of Brava! after each aria. Definitely a melodrama plot-wise, but hugely enjoyable.

Very excited!!! Up in the gods, but I can see the whole stage. Only my second opera ever, I'm more of a ballet girl, but I'm promised three hours of drama, so bring it on! #Tosca #Opera

I've done The Edwardians exhibition at The King's Gallery. Lots of trumpeting of Empire - as you would expect. Loved Queen Mary's Dehli Durbar tiara though.
