08.10.2025 14:44 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's also interesting how they chose to focus on the TV outlets (sans Chek) but also managed to mention the TC for some reason, while omitting reports from the Sun, CP and Black Press/Carpenter Media. What is this guy's media diet??
07.10.2025 18:20 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Reddit post text: Rob Botterell, sitting MLA for Saanich North and the Islands and the House Leader of the Green Party of BC joined the BCGEU rally today in support of workers: link to his insta reel. Green Party of BC leader Emily Lowan was there as well. How is this not news worthy? Isn't that the sort of thing that should be mentioned in any news article discussing today's BCGEU rally at the Legislature by default? Am I crazy to think this type of omission could be made on purpose to ease pressure on the NDP and maintain the status quo? Interestingly the Times Colonist at least made reference to Emily Lowan being there, but they oddly omitted Rob Botterell's presence too. Fascinated by this reddit post on our local subreddit. Some users have accused it of being astroturf-y but I decided to respond anyways. Sometimes reporters just report on what they see and can't be an all-knowing eye in the sky.

Head to the @theglobeandmail.com to watch the full video of the interaction Amber Bracken FOIed and received from the Prince George jail: www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/artic...
01.10.2025 18:21 β π 2 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0Amber Bracken's lawyer says she pushed a finger into the sheriff's chest. The sheriff told RCMP she βstruck him in the left shoulder with an aggressive punching/pushing motion." He said that evening that his shoulder hurt but he declined medical attention. Crown never approved a charge. #cdnpoli

Global News laid off 26 journalists in B.C. and Alberta today.
In B.C. the layoffs include virtually all of the online team, along with many others.
The business is increasingly cruel, and the hollowing out of newsrooms providing fair and reliable information continues to suck.
It's incredible I somehow made it 10 years in the news biz without being laid off but my luck ran out today. Sad to see a quality team torn apart. Spare a thought for your local journos who are ever being asked to do more with less, especially if you're tempted to dunk on the MSM.
