It took me months, about 495 rides, recovering from a shattered right foot and hacking a folding scooter, but I finally own a Nintendo Switch 2 using points obtained from Citi Bike. Afterwards, it left me questioning the very nature of work. For @aftermath.site.

The Chicago enforcement division of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission is known as a group of heavy-hitters. in the late ‘80s and pursuing civil charges against cryptocurrency fraudsters like Sam Bankman-Fried.

In recent months, that office has become a ghost town. A team once comprised of 20 enforcement attorneys now has one, people familiar with the office tell Barron’s. After this story was first published, Barron’s learned that the last remaining lawyer resigned. That attorney has not responded to requests for comment.

Yesterday our Nick Devor wrote that the CFTC was down to its last enforcement attorney in its influential Chicago office.

That last attorney has now also resigned, Nick reports.

I was laid off today, among hundreds of others at The Washington Post.

I loved covering games here, and I am so proud of our international coverage.

My colleagues — those who lost their jobs and those who didn't — are rockstars. It was such an honor to work alongside them.

Dan Ives Is Wall Street’s Biggest Showman. Should You Trust Him? Dan Ives from Wedbush has gone mainstream as Wall Street’s highest-profile stock analyst. Less well known is his growing set of overlapping business interests.

Dan Ives has gone mainstream as Wall Street's most recognizable stock analyst and the most vocal tech bull. Rebecca Ungarino and I report here that his overlapping business interests—and the potential impact on his research—are less well known.

we're getting all the downsides of cyberpunk (social alienation, ruthless hyper capitalism, digital mass surveillance state) but none of the promised upsides (cheap street food, cool jackets, super drugs that make you really fast and strong before they kill you)

In this world, however, baseball doesn't have a salary cap, and Cohen is about to build a heavily lobbied-for casino next to his ballpark, so it feels fair for fans to ask him this question: Hey, instead of making us say goodbye to our favorite players, why not just pay them with some of that future slot-machine cash? I can't help but feel a little stupidly naive, being taken aback by roster movement in 2025, but as someone who fell in love with this specific era of the local baseball team, I do have to admit that I feel sad about how much the Mets will look like some other squad next year. Nimmo, despite that awful Christian rock walk-up song, was one of the Mets' most consistent hitters for 10 seasons. Diaz's trumpets feel like the thing young Mets fans will best remember about their first trips to games decades from now. And I can't count how many times Alonso lifted me out of my seat by walloping a ball over the fence; I've definitely seen him hit more home runs live than any other player in my lifetime.

None of the Mets' moves feel entirely indefensible (so far!), but that doesn't mean it's fun to watch your favorite players go. defector.com/the-mets-are...
