All ballots are on paper. Sometimes - for local/regional elections - the sheets are poster-size, with many dozens of candidates. Even the national elections have some 20-30 parties listed.
Amazing how reliable and quick, and without "voter fraud" claims elections can be handled the old way!

Germany doesn't use voting machines, nor machine counting. About 30mil people cast their votes in national elections.
We also have mail-in and early voting.
All votes are counted after the polling stations (typically one per ~2500 people) close at 6PM. Reliable results are typically there by 11PM.

Watch out for more extreme voter suppression, redistricting, and ICE raids at polling stations during the midterms, stopping American citizens from voting.

Hm ... dieser Januar war bei mir (10kWp Süd) - trotz oder wegen - niedriger Temperaturen hier eigentlich ganz gut. 120kWh mehr erzeugt als im Vorjahr, davon 40 mehr Einspeisung. Leider haben die Temperaturen den WP-Verbrauch um 80kWh/~15€ erhöht. Trotzdem soweit OK ...
