Giving everyone homes is pretty much the only way to solve homelessness that doesn't end in an authoritarian takeover of a city

There is a fortune to be made for the first car company to bring an electric EV to market in the US

despite the crying from republicans and trump, manufacturers understand ICE is an obsolete technology and the choice is to adapt by making EVs or die by being outcompeted by foreign EV makers

if we took every penny every billionaire has, trump's campaign would've been starved for funding, media wouldn't be owned by right wing billionaires, kamala harris would be president right now and thus there wouldn't have been a $4T hole punched in the debt to extend Trump's tax cut

I'm sorry this offends you and your fuck trophies, but there really needs to be more child free restaurants and bars.

Do these people think children should just be kept in fucking kennels til they deem them cool enough to exist in public?

published, O< Democratic leaders met to decide which of the four Oversight
candidates they'd recommend to the caucus. The vote was decisive: Garcia, with 33 votes, was the winner. Crockett placed last, with only six. Around midnight, she went live on Instagram to announce that she was withdrawing her name from the race; Garcia woul be elected the next morning. In the end, "recent questions about something that just wasn't true" had tanked her support, Crockett told her Instagram viewers. She hadn' campaigned on impeaching Trump she told me later; she'd simply told a reporter that, if Democrats held a majority in the House, she would support an impeachment inquiry. And why not? She
was just being transparent, Crockett told

House Democratic leaders are DEATHLY afraid of impeachment. This piece says it clearly.

D leaders are afraid because they have no courage. They don’t think they can persuade the country that a fascist president should be removed. So they hide from any risk and merely embrace the status quo.

My least popular (and most correct) view is that cars should be automatically limited to the local speed limit. Put the pedal to the floor and you still can't go over 25mph in a residential area.

(15 in Manhattan btw)

it never fails to gall me that Americans who believe that foreign nationals crossing the border illegally to work jobs US citizens will not take is the greatest violation of national sovereignty in human history also want Ukraine to just cede 25% of its landmass to an actual invading army

Multiple times this year I’ve had coffee with fellow immigrants who grew up in corrupt third world countries and the shared sentiment has been that Americans don’t understand how bad things are going to get.

30 year mortgages functioning as a form of rent control / rent stabilization for the middle class is also why the federal government backstops the mortgage market and likely always will.

I once read somewhere that one of the biggest reasons 30 year mortgages are so prevalent in the US is that they are basically a form of rent control/ rent stabilization for the middle class and I think this is absolutely true.

one of the most frustrating parts of being alive right now is seeing Democrats being repeatedly handed messaging that would be extremely easy to springboard off and then fumbling it completely every time

The CEO of a a multi-trillion dollar company went to the White House, openly handed the US president a gift made of gold, and his company got a special exemption to tariffs the president has illegally imposed.

Also, the Founders took bribery so seriously the Constitution bans it 3 separate times.

Crypto bribed both major parties into making fake money a bigger part of our financial system. It will inevitably lead to a crisis at some point in which taxpayers have to bail out the fake money holders.

It will go down as one of the most foreseeable and unnecessary self-owns in our history.

Maybe it's all the leaded gasoline what made the Boomers so self-centered. Idk

09.08.2025 15:07 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Boomers are truly the most self-centered generation. And I'm not even blaming them or saying it's all their fault (someone raised them). But "Boomers are abnormally self-centered" is a theory the way gravity is a theory

A stereotype about baby boomers that is absolutely fair is how much they talk about themselves. I spent a lot of time around my maternal and paternal grandparents growing up and, as I remember, they never talked about themselves a fraction as much as my parents do.

The number of people endangered by the selfish stupidity of refusing vaccinations is absurd. Babies aren't eligible for measles vaccination until they're 6-12 months old and spreading measles presents a mortal danger to them
