Schumer got something for having the vote go this way. So did the, "Yeas". A bottle of primo hooch, a sack of money, a ten-year old boy for a long weekend, something. That actual people are affected by their votes doesn't even register with these mugs. Everything they do, they do for themselves.

Votes are massaged like this all of the time, allowing those who vote one way to look good to their constituents and those who vote the other way to look good to theirs and no one suffers from negative consequences.

It's politics, kids. They all vote the way they're allowed to and they all know.
