I see that more as hollow political messaging than an earnest engagement with liberatory feminist politics. She is still very willing to align with harmful men on other feminist issues (racism, policing, incarceration, etc), she's just mad the GOP didn't support her Senate dreams. Feminist pastiche.

Their actions have more to do with power than with feminism. Feminism is liberatory. They are aligning with their whiteness, their cisgender and able bodied status, etc to access a facsimile of patriarchal power. Standing up to a man for selfish reasons isn't feminism just because they're women.

I take your point, but I don't think that's what OP is speaking on, I think they're referencing people who believe it isn't "real" reading unless it's done with a physical book.

Circling back to also make reference to cultures with oral storytelling traditions - if one is lucky enough to hear a story told by a First Nations person, it is impossible to earnestly believe that story isn't good or valid unless it's typed up and read quietly.

Absolutely! The whole reason we got so jazzed about the printing press is that suddenly books were for way more people now that monks weren't writing them by hand.

(also, "books" in this sense were also pamphlets, flyers, broadsheets, music sheets!)

I just got the line drawing for my half sleeve tattoo appointment on Thursday and I fear I will be staring at it and gently weeping for the better part of the next 2 days. It's so much better than I could have ever imagined 😭
