Just finished reading Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee and oof, what a tough read. It is absolutely criminal that we were playing Oregon Trail instead of learning this in school. I'd love to find a similar book about the history in Canada. Read this one if you haven't yet!

Poor ivies! I hate when light is the problem, there's so little we can do about it.

And when she curls up to soak in the warmth, I hope she feels just as I do when my overgrown baby curls up in my lap and whispers into my neck "I love you too".

That seems terribly long to wait between experiencing your greatest joy. I hope that instead, she values heat the way we value love. She seeks it out because she can't make it herself, like we seek out connections.
