I want ICE dismantled. I want every one of its employees who committed a crime to be put on trial. I want Trump’s immigrant concentration camps shut down.

A good thing happened today: Haitians in Springfield, Ohio and elsewhere are (for now) safe from the planned ethnic cleansing operation. This happened because people came together — organizers, reporters, and those who care — and made it happen. Let’s take the win and continue the work.

People who cheat on their taxes (who are mostly citizens) are stealing from all of us. Only small fraction are ever held accountable even financially, and many fewer serve prison time. Which laws are enforced and how strictly is always a political choice.

Just looking at the numbers, both candidates got nearly the same # of votes as in November. One take would be that the Huffman voters (who I am guessing are less hardcore MAGA Republicans?) stayed home. Curious if anyone local thinks that tracks.

Rehmet won by 14 points.

No. There was a special election in a blue US congressional district in Houston on the same day, might be what you are thinking of. In ‘22 this one was R+20, in special November ‘25 it was R+5 (split between 2 R candidates, the more MAGA on got more), in this runoff it was D+14.
