What part about wishing for peace and wanting to talk about NYC was giving Qatari vibes?

No you pay it to customs.

The most surprising was the speed that they collapsed.

You knew there were people who wanted these things but the sane person in you is saying that oligarchs dont want rampant disease either.

Increase the court pool singinficatly and draw 9 random justices for any one decision. Add natural term limits. Eliminate the shadow docket.

Ive spoken to other founders who feel pretty pessimistic about the move but the reality is the capital has not yet caught up.

Still increasingly difficult to raise capital in Canada and the hiring pool is flooded with non top talent.

There was a reactionary trend post covid and into the AI wave, for sure. Definately anecdotal but ive spoken to far more founders in the last few months that say they are getting increasingly pessimistic about making the move.

Giving a bully your lunch money is only a temporary downpayment for future bullying.

We ALL need to step up for the first amendment.

By-the-way, for the record, this ex-Disney employee finds Jimmy Kimmel very talented and funny.

This needs to be a major priority for any 2028 hopeful. Across the board trust busting. Without it, we'll be right back here in the next cycle.

The messaging is correct though, dems need to start making it clear that there are legal consequences for these types of actions.

Even if Rs are too far gone, corporations & public opinion still matter and it needs to he clear that laws will be enforced.

This is what all our *currently* elected officials should be doing, and not nearly enough are.

We need people who are willing to stand up against fascism, not weak-willed appeasers. Good on you, @katmabu.bsky.social

Stock market is a greed-fest and it has never accurately predicted major financial crisis before even when they are in plain site.

It only reacts violently when the shoe has already dropped.

This will cause major domestic and global disruption as every country using the US dollar will have lost significant purchasing power, almost over night.

Its a global crisis in the making.

Not outright default on the debt but what is (likely) going to happen as a result of what trump is doing here is a devaluation of the US dollar.

Essentially the cost of borrowing is going to go up so significantly that the US is going to have to tell existing debt holders they cant pay full.

Melbourne model is a really good example here. Free unlimited transit in the CBD and an expense for the trains in/out.

Let people move freely where its most dense and you'll significantly reduce the traffic. It's both economically beneficial and provides a critical public service.

This is the entire problem we face as a species at the moment.

The ways in which we've created infinite width funnels to pull people into a few narrow thought trees has basically crushed independent &critical thought. You never get challenged.

New growth industries are supposed to emerge and job creation with it.

Again, speed and scope are important variables here.

This happens in industry cycles all the time as they mature. Here, the speed might be of concern but the concept isn't foreign.

Jobs in "finance" have been slashed by almost half since the start of the 2000s.

Trading jobs are down 50%+ and investment positions down 15%+ since 2000.

Welcome to human nature. People who know they've made mistakes will rationalize why it made sense and why they might have been right anyways.

It usually means they are willing to be convinced of another viewpoint if approached correctly.

The existence of these interviews alone suggest guys like Dave and others in his sphere have buyers remorse.

No one is suggesting caving to their demands but to just dismiss what can easily seen as a cry for help is also a mistake.

1. From public POV, AI is being developed to the detriment of the majority of people. If you have a different view, present it.
2. Business is generic but corporate greed is unpopular when people are poorer then ever
3. Healthcare - doesn't work for the majority of Americans. It's a touchy subject

@mcuban.bsky.social I think you might benefit from a more nuanced and fact seeking approach.

People want to hear what you have to say, but you also need to meet them half-way. People are angry because your peer group have been making decisions on their behalf that have led to this moment. /

People realizing they've been lied to but the heads of these companies?

AI was always billed as something that would improve everyone's lives but basically every *visual* reality of it to date is negative for the average person.

How did this trend start in 2020 when 2021/1H 2022 has the most hiring in the industry, ever, and highest wage growth?

People are far over stating the impact that AI is having on this industry and severely underweighting that over hiring and salary inflation from 2021 is causing the cool down

I suck at writing SQL queries and I've worked on core features & flows on a 500m MAU platform.

When I was hired into that job at Microsoft I didn't know C# and that was the only language they used on the team.

The people you're speaking of are intended to be taught and learn, quickly.

I really doubt a fake feud between the two would have Elon linking Epstien and attacking the bill nevermind the other stuff like framing the recession on the tarrifs and so much more.

These are just things you dont come back from and its giving them too much credit. They are messy lunatics.
