8 species of 25 moths was more than I expected trapping under cover in the woodland of Rush Farm N Worcs last night. A remarkable 15 Sprawler was the best plus Figure of Eight (3), F Thorn (3), Mottled Umber, Chestnut, Satellite, GB Crescent & Nov Moth agg (5). #teammoth

I keep just total species spreadsheets - the CR here has his own spreadsheet too for recorders to complete but prefers iRecord as the workload can be shared with others in approving records. Either way good to make our catches useful isnβt it

34 species recorded following a bird survey at Upper Hollowfields Farm yesterday. Nice to see Yellowhammer returning to the bird crop areas with 10 recorded. Also Reed Bunting, Siskin, Redpoll & good nos Winter Thrushes. The first Brown Hairstreak eggs counted #worcsbirds #ukbutterflies

Brown Hairstreak - this one found on the 19th July 2023 - then the earliest but beaten this year by the first record on the 13th July
At Upper Hollowfields Farm, North Worcs this year, the moth list increased to 233 species, Butterflies to 29 with White Admiral new for the farm. The first Brown Hairstreak recorded was earliest ever seen there on the 13/7. Little Egret also for the first time. #teammoth #worcsbirds #ukbitterflies
