I’ve learned that the firm has installed a pellet ice machine, which I have renamed “Appellate Ice.” That is also the name of my appellate themed snocone stand.

I gave a CLE to the Tarrant Young Lawyers today, which confirmed that I’m not young anymore. But I’m also not old. So I guess I’m officially Mid.

I’m envious of all the 12-ft skeleton decorations but lack storage space for offseason. Wonder how people feel about skeleton cupid and Uncle Sam?

I'm thinking about doing an article/paper about the various issues involved in suspending a judgment on appeal. I can't decide if the better title is:

1. The Name's Bonds. Supersedeas Bonds.

or

2. How to Transform Your OK-sedeas Into a Supersedeas.

I see lots of attorneys say that they specialize in “complex” civil cases. But no one ever claims to be a specialist in “simple” civil cases. Maybe it’s the lawyers who are making the simple complex. 🤔

Had a kid complain that everyone else was eating the cereal they wanted. Which was the perfect softball for me to ask “So they’re always after your Lucky Charms?”
