I’m all for more non-superhero fare, but are we really at the place that it’s “pretty damn terrific” when a movie won’t earn-back it’s budget?

Won’t this kind of financial loss only lessen the chances a studio will invest in such projects, in the future?

Come on Gen X…you can’t have the 70s (Star Wars, Carrie), the 90s (Jumanji, Mummy Fraser edition) AND 2000s (Hellboy).

Maybe some of these aren’t original Gen X franchises and maybe some of the remakes aren’t aimed at Gen X at all, but a new generation.

People need to know it’s not even 100min…I think folks often conflate “classics” with “epics”, and don’t realize it’s such a tight package of perfection.

Diminishing returns.

1. Best I can say is it looked cool, sometimes.
2. Unglamorous biopic…liked Steiger and Balsam.
3. All Dazed and Confused vibes, and then gut-punch.
4. A real slice of life that most are not exposed-to.

Sounds good to me; talent and success are not always 1:1 in Hollywood.

And somehow get to do it as these “special rulings” or whatever, so they don’t have to create precedent.

I’ve not yet seen Vampyr, but completely opposite otherwise haha
