I had a run in with ICE snatching a man out of his car while walking my children to school this morning in NW DC

I asked a neighbor to continue walking my kids to school and I turned back to document and confront the ICE agents.

Judge McConnell basically walked them through the math, called all their arguments bullshit, and entered the order that the gov't stop playing games with the money while kids go hungry.

Didn't even give the gov't the chance to respond.

McConnell on children going hungry: "This Should Never Happen in America."

He goes back to gov't's argument being pretextual, citing numerous statements made by Trump and his adminisrtration over the last week.

This is by my count the 22nd Trump administration emergency request that has been granted by SCOTUS since January.

One of the themes running through them is that the court seems to assume that any lower court decision that blocks a Trump policy is irreparable harm to the government.

Chicago federal judge to issue sweeping injunction limiting use of force by immigration agents in ‘Operation Midway Blitz’ The incoming preliminary injunction replaces a temporary restraining order issued by U.S. District Judge Sara Ellis in early October that was set to expire at 11:30 a.m.

A federal judge in Chicago said she will issue a sweeping injunction that puts more permanent restrictions on the use of force by immigration agents during “Operation Midway Blitz,” saying officials lied in their testimony and that their unlawful behavior on the streets “shows no signs of stopping.”

He said he wants them at attention and quiet. Like Xi.

Ellis: "Requiring the government to comply with its obligations under the Constitution, in particular the Fourth Amendment, is simply not a harm."

Ellis: "Moreover, the public has a strong interest in having a government that conducts itself fairly and according to its own stated regulations and policies."

Ellis also finds that the feds' use of force in Chicago "shocks the conscience."

Ellis: "I see little reason for the use of force that the federal agents are currently using. Pointing guns, pulling out pepper spray, throwing tear gas, shooting pepperballs and using other less lethal munitions do not appear to be appropriate."

Judge Ellis says the plaintiffs are likely to succeed in their claim that the Trump administration "put substantial pressure on religious practitioners to modify their behavior and violate their beliefs."

Ellis again insists that the Trump administration's arguments "lack credibility."
