And I've always thought that MST3K: Detective landed on the "right side" of that balancing act especially when you consider that the flat text lacks elements of a live delivery like tone and timing. Ben and I disagreed on that point... but also he didn't have a mental reference for that tone/timing!

We *did not adequately explain* the difference between "basic cable" (MST3K) and "public access" (Wayne's World) because... it's a text adventure podcast.
Suffice it to say that MST3K was made quite cheaply but *was* being paid for. Public access was free to make and free to show, with hurdles.

I enjoy playing the games, good/bad/middling, but honestly the magazine episodes are the most fun for me.

Right. Nobody made them announce products with the info that *either* the ROMs would be included *or* you'd have to drop in your own ROM images. But that's what they announced!

Agreed with a kicker, "Santa's Village" was a local-to-me amusement park growing up.
But still. So many mentions of grottoes.

It's a tough life, being Dromio. (Either of them. Doesn't matter. They both take a lot of abuse in The Comedy of Errors, opening July 18!)
Featuring Malcolm McCanles as Dromio of Ephesus and Laura Kochanowski as Adriana, from our recent appearance on Radio Literature.

I was biased against this game in the 80s because of "Lije" and I remain biased against it now that I've listened to the audiobook and played the game.
(and, good stuff on the subversive R. prefix!)

I'm not shy about it. Time certainly a consideration. Any game map actively trying to thwart the player is going to send me looking for a documented map: many/most, but not all games. And I've played enough of these games so I have a pretty good idea of "I just don't know what this puzzle wants."
