Watching Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark with my 10yo (first time he's seen it). Explaining to him who the Nazis are, and why they're bad. Reeling at the world in which I'm trying to explain this.

Being emailed by an academic employer -- which is terminating my line in 3 weeks (NB: my profession has a 12-month hiring timeline) -- to complete training modules on how to handle *my own* workplace stress and discriminatory practices in the workplace is... well, it's just really something.

Shame on every single one of these senators. I don't know what echo chamber you're living in, but it isn't the lived reality of your constituents. Or of Americans, nation-wide.
This is a pivotal moment, and each of these votes has imperilled the checks and balances of our democracy.

This is absolutely nuts. Also a lesson in how kindly capitulating to fascism still won't save you.

insomnia
lack of appetite
GI issues
existing condition flare-ups
anxiety, mood swings, depression
If the proposed cuts go forward, my college will cut approx. 40% of faculty in one go, after earlier deep cuts to fac/staff.

This is a new, open dataset on 40 years of Federalist Society events, including titles, dates, locations, sponsors, topics, and speakers.

There couldn't be a better moment for scholars to pick this up and run with it.

The goal is to eliminate half or more of all Humanities academic posts across various schools and smush them together into one school
