It’s funny but a wokeness norm, of “significant social censure—firing, general ostracizing—of anyone the moment you get a whiff of racism or sexism from them” would’ve stopped Trump 30 years ago.

If you hate your email job (as I do) but are a good email writer, you'll recognize this dynamic. The level of disgust I have for coworkers who put their new ideas or email responses through ChatGPT before sending them is limitless. I stop reading the email the moment I realize what I'm seeing.

To be clear, this dynamic, "I like or prefer X, and the AI-ing of X is a huge disappointment to me and makes want to engage less X" is just the dynamic we're all going to live through until either this thing loses or AI becomes genuinely indistinguishable.

One thing I can't stop hating about ChatGPT is that its real point of 'usefulness' is simply that Google searches are more or less junk and counterproductive. The moment your search goes beyond a Wikipedia link as the top response, every result is a jumble of terrible ads and unresponsive content.
