True, the government certainly isn't stepping up to save anyone. I was encouraged to hear the Nursing union come out to stand with Pretti. That kind of thing might be a place to start.

What's going to happen to psych units when folks are on a hold and there's no one to pay? We just eat the losses? Release people who are a danger to self or others?

There is no part of this that makes ethical or practical sense.

Reading the reddit post about a satirical petition for Denmark to purchase California, full of people enthusiastically saying "yes, please." I suggested a BOGO with Oregon.

Thing is, though, the laughter belies a seriousness.

This situation is unsustainable, and many of us are desperate for hope.

If you watch Stranger Things Season 1 by itself, as originally intended, it's pretty darn good.

Food choices are complicated, with strong emotional, socioeconomic, and cultural ties, as well as dietary needs and tolerances. Veganism has positive philosophical underpinnings, and still the purity testing and vitriol in some vegan communities hurts a good overarching cause.

House Rep Al Green (same man who courageously stood up and was removed from the state of the union address) has brought articles of impeachment. He is one of my very favorite representatives.

Where's Congress?

My request of democrats:

Take a good, long look at how republicans obstructed, shrieked, and threw a fit when Obama was in office and they were in the minority.

Now, go use that kind of power for good. Please.
