These times can feel hopeless, but documenting a small part of yesterday’s No Kings rally in Chicago was cathartic and energizing. Being surrounded by tens of thousands of people who also reject this lunacy restored my faith in humanity.

Today was my first and I'm so glad I went out to document this moment. Here are some pics from Chicago.

If you burn down a forest, you don't miss out on lumber for just that season. You have to replant all the trees, nurture them, and wait for them to grow.

The science and research budget cuts happening now are wanton, senseless arson. Recovery, if it ever happens, will take generations.

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die.

Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

I know, right. I think their best move at this point is bring back the gardens. People had a lot of memories there. Maybe the nostalgia will bring them back. Who knows. The pier is a bit of a mess.

No kidding. Such a tragedy.

Yes!!! So many people got married there! It was a stunning venue. No doubt the floor was horrendous but, again, they could have fixed that for waaaay less than $30 million. So sad.
