I met my partner within a month and I am, eight years later, still very happy with him. In part this is because he is someone who encourages people to be who they truly are. (He is also silly, authentic, empathetic and kind - all important characteristics.)

Quantity of messages went through the floor, quality went through the roof, presumably because I'd scared off a lot of people - but crucially these were people who wouldn't have liked me anyway.

This is based on an accidental discovery I made in 2016 and will also radically speed up the process of finding a partner.

Some months later...

If you want to find a partner who's right for you, figure out who YOU are as best you can and then be honest about yourself with potential partners. Being in a relationship where you feel you can't be yourself will eventually make you (and probably them) miserable.
