Is a list like this something you would use often?
10.11.2025 20:33 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Metatopia was FANTASTIC. Got to meet and hang with a ton of great people, play some fantastic games (unpublished).
I have a lot to chew on now from the playtests I got in. Maybe even make some updates before Pax Unplugged comes around!
Every metatopia I rush to try and turn a year's worth of design ideas into prototypes in a week. So far I have 1 1/2 of 4. 4 would be nice, but let's aim for 2. Yeah 2 sounds reasonable.
03.11.2025 19:16 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 02 cursed design problems incoming! (at least cursed for me)
24.10.2025 16:50 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Got a specific game design problem you're trying to crack? We'd love to give our input in Missing Pieces, a board game design advice column in @ttgda.bsky.social's newsletter!
You can submit questions here: docs.google.com/forms/d/1hc3...
What kinds of projects is asmodee looking for these days?
19.10.2025 22:30 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Couldn't do No Kings today, but I will be donating!
Thank you to everyone showing up and reminding us who is America.
@cardboardedison.com Is there a list of game design competitions around somewhere?
13.10.2025 19:29 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0@nyugamecenter.bsky.social So I got an email approving me to attend the Thursday playtest. It implies that it's only good for today, but I recall it saying I needed to fill out the form only once per semester. Do I need to fill the form again?
10.10.2025 02:04 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0In time for Halloween, here are 3 FANTASTIC horror (or creepy) games:

@dvcgames.bsky.social Shout out to DVC, your game submissions guide is A+. Wish every publisher had one of these.

@bluedevilduke.bsky.social Do you think you'll do another solo game design panel at Unpub next year?
04.10.2025 18:28 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Sheet's been updated, slightly better formatting, and our friend @stoichamster.bsky.social helped fill in some ??? entries.
28.09.2025 23:38 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Updated! Sounds like you've been busy lately :)
28.09.2025 23:36 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0As long as you think it's reached enough that they didn't change their minds
28.09.2025 13:34 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Hey board game designers I made a list of Pax Unplugged publishers: docs.google.com/spreadsheets...
"Would need to ask", means website and maybe contact, but their site doesn't mention submissions.
Leave a comment if I need to fix something up.
it will always be QUEEN OF HORDE
16.09.2025 03:56 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0So I'm starting to do a rough write up of a designer diary for a upcoming project. Does anyone have a favorite one from BGG? I've read a few, but I don't think I've read enough to know what makes them great.
13.09.2025 10:47 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Queen of Horde?
12.09.2025 21:52 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I'll look into it. It sounds like it's 80% there and I would need to figure out how to translate markdown to CSV or excel.
Someone else mentioned Twine, and that'll be the other one I look into.
Thanks!
Is this more of a custom job? Like did you write your own program to hold all the data?
11.09.2025 19:42 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Thanks for the suggestion! I didn't know Twine could ship a CSV at the end.
11.09.2025 19:42 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I'm trying to avoid a situation where I map out all the content in one tool and then have to manually transfer that into the spreadsheet format to make the cards.
11.09.2025 11:53 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0My challenge is that with narrative games the content gets rather complicated, so I'm trying to find other ways to plot out the card content in an organized way (like a network graph), but then still be able to make cards. So turning that graph into a spreadsheet, or turn the nodes into images.
11.09.2025 11:32 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0So big picture is that I'd like some methodology that allows me to plot out a bunch of related content; locations, characters, etc... and then be able to turn those into cards.
My usual workflow is a spreadsheet and templating software; data and image names go in, cards come out.
Any game designers on here have tips for working on narrative driven tabletop games? I'm currently trying to build a card game which is kind of choose-your-own-adventure, but the format you have to keep the cards (spreadsheets) is not really conductive of branching storylines.
11.09.2025 06:01 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 3 ๐ 0@renegadegamestudios.com so I have a game design question. When designing a narrative game, maybe using cards, how do you keep track of all the content?
