Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. It’s always a matter of will not resources.

There's also the fact that whatever it costs the consumer now, AI is being heavily subsidized by investor money and will almost certainly get much more expensive.

I have no idea how they think poors are kept off social media. Everyone has a phone, you literally need one at this point to have any hope of being employed.

It's not that they don't believe in shame. They think we should be ashamed of being poor or sick or empathetic etc. We need a culture that puts shame on things like dishonesty and greed and abusing your power.

I think the error a lot of centrists make is beleiving the right when they say they speak for the average person. They don't. They speak for themselves and use an imaginary common man as justification. Of course, centrists wouldn't make that error if they had principles beyond chasing power.

As a former public defender who represented thousands of people, I can’t stop thinking about the contrast the Epstein files raise.

I watched 1000s face swift, devastating punishment for far less serious conduct — poor, marginalized, & presumed dangerous from the start.

CCTV footage appears to show DHS agents posing as people having car trouble in order to lure a target out of his house before arresting them. The target comes out and starts helping them before 3 vehicles surround the scene. The car "experiencing" trouble then drives off with them.

Being in the Epstein files and not being immediately fired is crazy. People were fired for posting Charlie Kirk quotes verbatim after his death. People were fired for being black women. For saying genocide is wrong.
