Whenever I grab a metaphor, everything looks like a nail. Lines are the ideal use case: where there is a journey, a change of state, there is a point A and point B. How do you get someplace you want to be without knowing what it looks like?

You can reduce your risk of shadow damage by staying in a spot of light from a fire or the sun. Avoid shadow exposure in the central hours of the night. Remember to reapply shadowscreen often (or risk getting devoured by the shadow realm forever.)

At Hot, we stand by our phones day and night. The sign by the water cooler said “No missed calls.” Another sign said “No rotary dials.” Still, my first day on the job I brought my model 500. Big mistake. After 2 hours I already had to put my index finger on ice. #photography

Then, the stones started shifting…

She took the leatherbound book out and began reading out loud,

“Little folk under the cobblestones,
you are commanded to bring me into the Unknown,
you are forbidden from stealing my skin and bones,
you’ll be released once your service has been done.”

Nothing changed at first.

Instructions were followed to the letter. It was ten past eight, pitch dark except for an insufficient couple of streetlights, and she stood right in the middle of the third square by the door. #photography

An eternity and an instant later, you will reach the clearing, and it will be your turn to bask in the ray. It will be bright, but it will not be warm.

ALLEGORY OF THE CAVE-IN #photography

Keep steady as you step inside: it's dark and the stones are slippery wet. Like a moth to a flame, look for the light and then walk, walk, walk. Do not repeat Orpheus' mistake, even as the goosebumps on your back whisper to you that the cave is watching.

It does have a bias for too many typography-related puns per paragraph, but I guess that’s just due to its limited font of knowledge.

Every morning I choose my favorite letter of the alphabet for the day and let the electrical coils inside do the rest of the work, with the automata penning all of my letters in pristine Morse code.
