..displaying your proficiency with the game. That seeing another guardian at a specific rank, would give you a sense of their level of involvement with the game, and a loose idea of their mastery of it.

For clarity, I feel like the GR system is confused. it was originally touted as a way to help introduce newer players to the game, which I think the first 5 ranks do a decent job at. However the other reason you guys gave for the system at launch, was that it would be a way of.. 2/

It is ridiculously arrogant to claim that you, or anyone else can determine which people are lacking the qualities that are described as "objectively" beautiful.

That's just eugenics.

The very idea that someone can be born without beauty, is based on an outside perspective determining that they don't have "it".

THAT is an actively harmful idea.

No one is born with the ability to play the piano, people are born with aptitudes sure but that's completely incomparable with a subjective quality that requires a perceiving party. 4/

It's also a test of understanding Asexual people. The very existence of aesthetic attraction that is subjective, means that attraction to someone that you find beautiful cannot simply be explained away by a biological imperative.

Understanding that everyone is beautiful is an empathy test.

Can you see someone who is unattractive to you, but put yourself in the hypothetical shoes of someone who would find them attractive, and thus conclude that they are beautiful? 2/
