Oh, some early Octavia E. Butler in the 70s also, I'm partial to Mind of My Mind (1977) and Patternmaster (1976) are probably overshadowed by the later, better novels in this series but even in these earlier entries Butler is complicating pulp tropes with her sometimes unsettling social speculation
