Basically all the new additions either add nothing or make it worse. The extended anime sequences kills any momentum. I prefer b&w House of Blue Leaves, to my surprise. The all color version felt repetitious in a way that it never had before. B&W gives it a rhythm, turns out, IMO.

Something about those old Italian master (see also: Storaro) seems to rather keep working with monsters than retire to their deserved laurels. Huge bummer.

I did the full Leo when I realized the Homeless King had just shown up.

Recently rewatched it and loved it all over again. Tykwer being (one of) his own composers is never less than staggering to me.

Hard agree. For a lot of reasons but it's no contest purely on these terms: Villaneuve and Linus Sandgren using 70mm Imax or the Russos and Newton Sigel (who is talented but not in the same league) shooting digital? Not a hard choice.

PTA dislikes Scarface but left Taylor's "Tony Montana shit" improv in the movie since he figured Perfidia would be a big fan.
