I kind of feel the same way. Unfortunately for Laine, he hasn't exactly been put in a situation that takes advantage of his strengths but, at the moment, there is really no other spot for him.

This is definitely one of my pet peeves about the fan base. I mean, we finally have a young team that’s extremely promising yet. We always have to find something to complain about or we need a goalie controversy. It’s just ….🙄I don’t get it.

I think Eric Engels mentioned in a piece that MSL was taking a similar approach with Laine as he did with Anderson. Going to the 4th line to open up space to learn. People were talking about how JA wouldn't be able to adapt, even Gallagher. Learning doesn't happen overnight or in a vacuum.

One thing that will be interesting to watch this season is how teams will try to neutralize Lane Hutson. Undoubtedly, his play has been studied by opponents in the off-season. It will be a cat and mouse game.

In two games so far this season, opponents have really tried to smother Demidov in the offensive zone. His reputation will earn him extra attention and it will be interesting to see how his game evolves over the course of the season. #Habs

Before we agonize too much about Laine's lack of scoring on the PP, we should pause and realize that the #Habs are two games into the season and Laine has less than one minute of PP time to date. I am sure St Louis wants to get the first PP working before he allocates more time to the second.

100% agree. Further, I feel Evans (even if a very responsible 200 foot player) is the last guy I’d have Laine play with.

Yes, he didn't hurt the team and he played his part fine. Because he's a serious scoring threat the opposition must pay him attention, which opens space for the others. No worries, he'll get his opportunities. 80 games still to play. Let's just enjoy the win for now, eh?

I don't know about climbing all over Laine. He is playing a far more responsible game than last season and his effort level has improved dramatically. So has much of his decision-making. Progress, but there is still a long way to go. He and Anderson are not ideal lineages either. My two cents. #Habs

Listen. Dobes has been stellar for big portions of last year, all preseason and great tonight. I can't help but think that he's pushing Montembeault. Sorry, but Monty better keep eye's on the Starter role or else he may lose it. #Habs
