You Should Blame Merrick Garland Garland's incompetence gave the Supreme Court the chance to set Trump free

My latest is about the latest revelations on the failed prosecution of Donald Trump, and why you should blame Merrick Garland more than the Supreme Court.

Another host, Eugene Daniels, asked Mr. Cuomo what he meant by diversity being a β€œweakness.”

β€œDiversity can be a weakness if you have antipathy among groups, Jonathan,” Mr. Cuomo said, mistaking Mr. Daniels for his co-host Jonathan Capehart, both of whom are Black.

You can't make this up.

There Is No Xbox: The Fall of Microsoft Gaming Microsoft is nixing a successful brand and community to chase profits it will never acquire.

It's fascinating to see Microsoft nuke any chance of an Xbox rebound in the hopes of being bigger than Steam.

There is perpetual hand wringing and recrimination about leftist elitism towards right wingers. But I never hear anything about extreme and hateful elitism towards those the right deems beneath them. Look at what they're saying about snap recipients right now. They're seething with rage.

Bugonia Review: Let's All Chuckle at Our Certain Doom Director Yorgos Lanthimos remains a master of dark comedy, but his latest feature struggles under its shallow fatalism.

I got some laughs out of #Bugonia, but it’s not a particularly deep or thoughtful movie.

The media and intelligentsia really do hate earnest sincerity more than any other opinion or belief, to a degree that is honestly pretty wild.

The Jewish right discovering in real time that the Trumpist right, and the open bigotries it has unleashed upon the US body politic, is not in fact going to spare Jews, is quite a trip.

The selection of Garland as AG and his failure to act was about ten bajillion times more consequential than any campaign strategy decision

I absolutely agree that prices are too high. I think the studios and exhibitors need to find a better profit-sharing model because betting everything on an expensive opening weekend before rushing to streaming hurts everyone.

Nouvelle Vague Is a Weird Movie for Netflix Richard Linklater’s latest will send you hunting for New Wave movies that aren’t available on the biggest streamer.

I quite enjoyed NOUVELLE VAGUE, but for anyone who catches it on Netflix, they’ll be left searching for movies the streamer doesn’t offer.

Perhaps, but long movies have been massive hits (Avatar, Avengers: Endgame, Oppenheimer). I think people don't mind a long movie as much as they're unwilling to pay $15 for something they can watch at home in a few weeks.

Box Office Massacre: October Revenue Falls to 27-Year Low, Excluding the Pandemic The dramatic downturn in North America is due to a scarcity of product and the failure of fall event pics to connect with audiences, including the ill-fated 'Tron: Ares' and the Dwayne Johnson starrer...

Are the movies the problem? Sure, somewhat. But I continue to maintain the decline in box office isn't scarcity of product but the short theatrical window. The casual moviegoer will not go to the theater if they can see it on a streaming in a matter of weeks. They just won't.
